The Centre for Living Technologies will act as an infrastructure for our four institutions and (regional) partners to accelerate fundamental research of living technologies and their applications. It will also create new opportunities for educational collaborations at the interface of life science and engineering. The centre functions as a platform that stimulates breakthrough research in the field of synthetic biology, with the aim of developing and exploiting next-generation approaches to guide (multi)cellular behavior for improving human and planetary health. On 17 March and 12 April the centre organizes two sandpit events in order to identify key players at our four institutions. You are welcome to join!
Within the centre Tom de Greef (TU/e), Diana Machado de Sousa (WUR), Lukas Kapitein (UU) and Jeffrey Beekman (UMC Utrecht) collaborate in order to stimulate breakthrough research in the field of synthetic biology.
Sandpit events
The sandpit session is divided into two events, on different days: on 17 March (online) and 12 April (offline). With those events the Centre for Living Technologies wants to create a platform to pitch ideas, brainstorm and spark inter-and transdisciplinary collaborations. The aim is to identify key players at our four institutions to drive further synthetic microbial co-cultivation, considering a design-build-test-learn approach. Views on applications of synthetic co-cultures, including societal aspects, are also welcome.
