Over 170 professionals from science, policy, and practice gathered in Amersfoort on 4 November for the NECTR Festival 2025.
The festival focused on transdisciplinary collaboration: working across the boundaries of disciplines and organisations to address complex societal challenges.

The programme offered a rich variety of interactive workshops, where participants shared knowledge, built new connections, and reflected on the future of transition-oriented research and education. The EWUU Alliance actively contributed with two well-attended sessions: one organised by EWUU Education and one by the EWUU Centre for Unusual Collaborations (CUCo).

The CUCo workshop, titled “Alles Moed” (“All Courage”), invited participants to explore how courage and creativity can help to collaborate beyond conventional boundaries. EWUU Education hosted the session “Fostering Changemaking Competencies”, centred around the Transition Makers Toolbox – a practical set of tools designed to strengthen changemaking skills. Both sessions attracted around thirty participants.

Alongside the main programme, a VIP event for executive leaders was held, featuring a short training on transdisciplinary working and a leadership dialogue on the role of governance in societal transitions.

NECTR is a collaboration among a broad coalition of partners, including EWUU, TNO, KIN, Het Groene Brein, DRIFT, Rathenau Institute, Convergence, Athena, AMS Institute, FRAIM, and NWO. Together, they are putting transdisciplinary working firmly on the map. Through dialogue, knowledge exchange, and community building, the movement continues to grow—strengthening joint solutions for major societal challenges.
