What does it take to fundamentally change how we approach health and prevention? The EWUU institute for Preventive Health is looking for transdisciplinary research proposals that help answer this question. Through this Seed Call 2026 — Building the Future of Preventive Health — up to €50,000 per project is available for consortia of at least three researchers from at least three different EWUU institutions (TU/e, WUR, Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht).

Proposals should connect to at least one of the four Transition Pathways — preventive health with all, as the easy choice, planetary-centred, or as investment — and align with one of the institute’s Research Themes: Healthy Start, Healthy Living Environments, The Future of Cancer, or Health @ Home.

Seed funding supports tangible outcomes such as developing a large-scale grant application (e.g. Horizon Europe, NWA), a white paper, co-design workshops, or new collaborations with societal stakeholders. A total budget of €200,000 is available for approximately 4–5 projects.

Deadline

16 October 2026, 23:59 CET. Projects start from 1 January 2027.
