You can join effortlessly from the comfort of your own space – simply tune in via Teams, grab your lunch, and immerse yourself in thought-provoking discussions.

This Lunch & Learn Lecture is organised by EWUU Unusual Collaborations.

Quality in practices of inter- and transdisciplinary research

Quality is evaluated differently across academic and professional fields. Therefore, evaluating inter- and transdisciplinary research is challenging. While research is usually evaluated ‘top-down’ based on indicators set by managers and funders, studies are emerging which trace how quality is evaluated ‘bottom-up’ within the practices of inter- and transdisciplinary researchers.

Building on these studies, MSC at WUR Shanna Koppejan’s Master thesis research unpacked how quality is evaluated in practice at the Centre for Unusual Collaborations. The aim is to feed locally emerging understandings and practices of ‘good’ research into wider debates about research quality. The session will provide examples of expressions of quality arising in inter- and transdisciplinary research to serve as a starting point for a conversation about evaluating research quality.
