Education

The alliance of Eindhoven University of Technology, Wageningen University & Research, Utrecht University and University Medical Centre Utrecht prepares its students and professionals for the future. They will increasingly be called upon to solve complex challenges in our society. The alliance brings together students from different institutions and disciplines, enabling them to work on these challenges.

Academics of the future
The academics of the future learn to combine the knowledge from their disciplines and their expertise with a broad scale of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary knowledge and skills. This allows them to cooperate and communicate in a complex, diverse context with colleagues from other disciplines and with partners from outside of the academic world.

Innovative education and didactic concepts
The institutions jointly create innovative curricula to involve students and professionals in shaping the future and to tackle major social challenges in the fields of energy, health, circularity and food. The alliance is going for new teaching methods such as Challenge Based Learning, in which students from the various institutions and from various disciplines cooperate on current social issues.

Mobility and flexibility
The four institutions promote the exchange of students and lecturers on behalf of multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary education. The ambition is to facilitate this through a variety of educational projects such as removing organisational barriers, stimulate knowledge sharing and to create opportunities for cooperation. From August 2021 onwards, information will be available to students about courses from partner institutions which they can enrol in.

Roadmap 2024 – 2027
The strategic focus for the upcoming four years is described in the Roadmap Education 2024 – 2027 (pdf).
