Lunch & Learn: Urban Rural Circularity

You are invited to join us for our online Lunch & Learn meeting on 3 December, 12.15 – 13.00 hrs. Are you a teacher, researcher, student or in any other way interested in our collaboration? Then join effortlessly from the comfort of your own space – simply tune in via Teams, grab your lunch, and immerse yourself. This month our institute 4 a Circular Society will host the meeting.

Explore how the institute 4 a Circular Society (i4CS) is driving impactful, transdisciplinary projects that will support a sustainable, circular society in 2025 and beyond. This session provides a look into our innovative, research-driven programs and demonstrates how our network of professionals is creating solutions at the intersection of socio-technical, behavioral, and system changes.

We’ll begin with an introduction to i4CS’s mission and transdisciplinary approach to advancing circularity. Then, we’ll hear from two of our seed projects as they showcase their work and the paths they’re forging in Urban-Rural Circularity. This initiative looks at bridging urban and rural regions to foster circularity on a local scale, finding ways to unite cities and countryside in a shared sustainable development.

Two seed granted projects will present themselves:

  • Societal change in constraints and motivations for future upcycling – Nina Rosa (WUR)
  • Accelerating public-private partnership for circular public spaces through inclusive digital technologies – Vikrant Sihag (TU/e)

Throughout the session, we’ll discuss how i4CS offers resources for innovative collaboration, including seed funding, research support, and dynamic “pressure cooker” sessions to facilitate rapid idea generation and partnerships. Join us to learn how i4CS can support your circular research initiatives in 2025 through transdisciplinary collaboration.

This session is presented by

  • Sacha Tensen – programme manager Urban Rural Circularity
  • Willem Janssen – Scientific Coordinator Urban Rural Circularity
