At UMC Utrecht, we are launching the IMAGINE Open Innovation Lab to accelerate the innovation and adoption of image-guided interventions. Public and private partners collaborate to unlock the potential of artificial intelligence (AI). Partnering with other institutions and industry leaders, such as Philips, our first major achievement is securing the NWO long-term partnership grant, enabling a €54 million investment over the next 10 years to drive oncology innovations forward. The next aim is to further expand the lab towards other clinical domains and expertise, such as (generative) AI.

Speakers:

Dr. Jon Pluyter is one of the first Philips employees to join us in Utrecht on a weekly basis. Together with Dr. Maarten van Kouwen, UMC Utrecht’s Innovation Officer for IMAGINE, Jon will showcase how this unique collaboration sparks new ideas, accelerates development, advances scientific progress, and most importantly, creates a positive impact for patients, clinical teams, and scientists. Leveraging AI and its potential is a significant challenge in healthcare, requiring new ways of working.
