8 December: Didactics for Continuing Education
Universities are increasingly focusing on education aimed at professionals. Effective Continuing Education requires connecting to the specific characteristics and needs of a group of participants who already have a lot of work- and life experience. They often also bring prior knowledge from other programmes to your course or workshop. As a CE-teacher you may even benefit from the participants’ experiences. It is important to take this into account in your educational design and in your attitude as a teacher.
In this lunch meeting, we will discuss what Continuing Education (CE) can potentially lead you to as a lecturer and researcher, and how you can ensure that CE actually fulfills that function. We will exchange ideas and share examples.
In order to support lecturers in the (further) development of this type of education and to learn from each other, the alliance offers the Modular course ‘Didactics for Continuing Education’.
